Oregon Governor issues Stay Home, Stay Safe. What this means to Kerr Contractors and our team members.

First and most importantly, we hope that each of you and your families are safe and sound and that you are taking all precautions to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy and safe. We want to inform you regarding Kerr Contractors’ response to the coronavirus pandemic.

June 11, 2019 was the office groundbreaking for the new KoMiCo facility located in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Today marks over 19 years of service at Kerr Contractors for Dennise Owings.

Reed’s Crossing is nominated as a Top Project in 2018 by the DJC. This master planned community is under full construction with many of the amenities complete. Check out the latest video capturing the progress of construction.

On Tuesday at the Northwest Underground Contractors Association (NWUCA) February general meeting, Alan Aplin received the ceremonial shovel for his two years of service as the Association’s President which ended in 2018. Receiving the award from your staunchest competitor is always a good experience.

124th Avenue Extension in Tualatin was officially open to traffic near the end of December 2018. This new roadway, built by Washington County, will provide alternate access from Tualatin Sherwood Road in Tualatin to Grahams Ferry Road in Wilsonville.

Kerr Contractors is breaking ground on a new Police Station in Salem, Oregon. J.E. Dunn is the general contractor for the project and Kerr Contractors is the site work subcontractor. This $1.6M project began in November and is expected to proceed through the winter and into the early summer.

ODOT bid results for November 2018 include three projects: I-5 Roberts Creek $26M, I-205 Sunrise Expressway $5M and I-84 Arlington to Swanson $14M, for a total of $45M!

Recruiting event at Oregon State University, Construction Engineering Management program.

NUCA held an equipment rodeo on July 22nd at the Canby Fairgrounds. This was a regular event up to 2008. This year’s event restarted this tradition of having a fun and family event. Besides the opportunities for operators of all skill levels to test their prowess against the competition, there was food as well as great events for kids. If you missed this year’s event, make plans to attend next year’s event.

So far in July, Kerr Contractors was low bidder on two projects for Washington County:

174th Avenue & Bronson in Beaverton, Oregon $2,088,653
Clark Hill Road in Hillsboro, Oregon $598,410

How sweet it is! Kerr Contractors is celebrating 30 years of heavy civil construction. From humble beginnings in 1988, we have grown into one of the Northwest’s largestest heavy civil contractors. On June 9th, we were blessed with good weather as we celebrated this milestone at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville. Employees and their families joined us and took time to celebrate this milestone as we prepare for the heavy lifting of this season’s construction. Over 30 years there has been a lot of heavy lifting!

Cornerstone Management Group has awarded three projects to reconstruct the existing school parking lots to offer greater safety for Parent’s and buses picking up and dropping off students. The three schools include Eastwood Elementary School, Jackson Elementary School and Ladd Acres Elementary School. Work will proceed as soon as school breaks for summer and be completed prior to the new school year starting in the fall.

Kerr Contractors was awarded the contract for the Cedar Hills Blvd. Widening and Access Road Project from the Beaverton School District. Work will include the construction of a new access road across the William Walker School property from Cedar Hills Blvd. Work also includes improvements and widening on Cedar Hills Blvd.

Kerr Contractors was recently awarded the a contract for the I-205 Freeway from Johnson Creek to the Glenn Jackson Bridge for ODOT

Kerr Contractors was low bidder for ODOT on a project in the Columbia Gorge called the I-84 Farley Slide.

American Public Works Association 2017 Project of the Year as well as Honors Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies for their 2018 Engineering Excellence Awards.

Sunrise Corridor Project for ODOT, Happy Valley, Oregon, received 2nd Place by the Daily Journal of Commerce as Transportation Project of the Year for 2016.
